The SMS Rust Colour Set has been designed specifically to give you the 4 best colour tones to create realistic rust effects on your model.
Airbrush on the Dark Orange Rust Colour first as a base, then go over in a mottling fashion with Light Orange Rust to create a tonal difference. Then with a paint brush, brush on some random splotches using a dark blue colour such as SMS PL71 Insignia Blue and then around the edges of that with Red Rust, Red Oxide or a dark brown colour of your choice.
Then tie it together with a very light dusting coat of Red Rust or Red Oxide through the air brush and finish up by dry brushing on a mix of SMS Weathering Pigments Earth & Red Earth.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
This product contains Isocyanates. Vapours and Spray Mists are harmful if inhaled. May cause irritations to the skin, eyes, nose and throat. May cause headaches, nausea, and dizziness. Refer to SDS for further information.
ENSURE ADEQUATE PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE) RATED FOR WORKING WITH ISOCYANATES IS USED AT ALL TIMES AND ADEQUATE VENTIALTION OF WORKSPACE IS ACHIEVED.
HOW TO USE :
Mix at a ratio of 2:1 + 10% Thinners. Example, 10ml PART A + 5ml PART B (HARDENER) + 1.5ml THINNERS. Mix only what you need to use. Once Part B (Hardener) is added to Part A (High Solid Clear), the chemical reaction begins and will be unusable within 30-40 minutes.
PART B (HARDENER) HAS A SHELF LIFE OF 6 MONTHS AFTER OPENING.
Ensure the surface you are painting is smooth and dust free. Airbrush a light mist to act as a ‘tack’ layer and leave for approximately 5 minutes. Then apply in an even wet coat. If required, add another wet coat after another 5 minutes. Allow 24 hours to harden and cure.
To remove any dust particles etc afterwards, polish out using an appropriate grit sandpaper and reapply the Ultra Clear Coat over the area once again.
Drying times at ambient temp 20 – 22C : Dust Free – 30 minutes, Tack Free – 12 hours, Fully hardened – 24 hours. Can be polished and buffed after 24 hours minimum.
