70-210mm F/4 Di VC USD (Model A034) is a compact telephoto zoom lens for full-frame DSLR cameras. It provides superb optical performance throughout the entire zoom range and features a maximum magnification ratio of 1:3.1, the highest in its class.* The design includes an internal zoom mechanism that provides solid mechanical construction and stable, reliable operation. Model A034 also employs a Dual MPU (Micro-Processing Unit) design, which enables high-speed and high-accuracy AF performance as well as powerful VC (Vibration Compensation) image stabilisation for flexible and versatile use in various situations. For dependable outdoor use, the new telephoto zoom is equipped with Fluorine Coating and Moisture-Resistant Construction.

Leveraging Tamron’s years of knowhow developing telephoto zoom lenses, Model A034 achieves superb optical performance with high contrast and resolution. The optical construction (20 elements in 14 groups) uses three LD (Low Dispersion) lens elements to effectively compensate for axial and transverse chromatic aberrations, thereby ensuring crisp and crystal clear image quality across the entire frame. Also, Model A034 features a constant maximum aperture of F/4 throughout the entire zoom range, thus providing superior control over depth-of-field and excellent bokeh. Compared to large-aperture telephoto zoom lenses, the new A034 is lighter with a weight of just 850g (30.3oz) and is more compact with a total length of only 174mm (6.8in.) for excellent portability. This new lens is easier to carry and instantly spring into action.

Highly reliable internal zoom mechanism
An internal zoom provides stability by minimising changes to the centre of gravity while shooting. Combined with Moisture-Resistant Construction, the internal zoom creates an easier all-around shooting experience. Also, since the total length of the barrel never changes while zooming, you can easily shoot through obstructions such as wire fencing.

Reliable autofocus tracking and vibration compensation are essential in a telephoto zoom lens. Tamron’s Dual MPU (Micro-Processing Unit) system on this lens strikes a balance between both. It includes two dedicated MPUs: one for lens system control including AF, and the other for vibration compensation processing. Each MPU is equipped with a DSP (Digital Signal Processing) block with high signal processing for exceptional AF performance and vibration compensation effects. Optional tripod mount with Arca-Swiss compatible quick-release plate
An optional tripod mount compatible with Arca-Swiss style quick release plates is available for the A034. Arca-Swiss style mounts can be easily attached and detached and are renowned for their excellent stability. In keeping with the lightweight nature of this zoom lens, the tripod mount is made of a light yet robust magnesium alloy to support you in a wide range of photographic conditions – like shooting at a slow shutter speed. Using a tripod makes the lens more stable, as opposed to attaching a tripod to a camera body to prevent blurred images. And since this tripod mount allows the camera body to rotate freely without moving its axis, adjusting composition is easy.
